Filipino Guitar Gets An Upgrade

DD Custom Guitars announced their 2012 roster of master musicians to endorse the line’s range of both electric and acoustic guitar. They are Manuel Legarda of Wolfgang, Yael Yuzon of Spongecola, Barbie Almalbis, and singer-songwriter Johnny Danao.

Founding partner Daren Lim said, “We want to re-define the term ‘Filipino guitar’ and make it synonymous not only to quality but also originality. And we do that by paying close attention to detail, top to bottom.”

In line with DD Custom Guitars’ vision to bring Filipino guitarists to the world stage, DD head designer Daniel Crisologo aims at bringing them the best instrument possible.

“Gusto Kong Mag Gitara” is DD’s battle-cry to bring high-quality guitars to every Filipino musician. (DD Custom Guitars are available nationwide, starting at P12,500 for electric and P8,500 for acoustic guitars. Barbie said, “I’m always looking for a guitar with a unique and inspiring tone, one that can also cut through in a live situation, as well as have the range to cover the huge spectrum needed in a three-piece band. I’ve also found both DD acoustic and electric guitars work well with different types of amps and p.a. systems, so I am confident wherever I play.”
